Introductory drafts based on current game materials, awaiting the developer’s review.
Check movement range
In turn-based battles, your position and available movement are the starting point for each decision. Consider nearby allies as well as enemies, and think about the action that can follow your move.

Read the terrain
Water, woodland, mountains and fortifications change the situation. Check reachable tiles, available commands and relative positions each time. Visual damage differences in a recording do not establish an exact terrain multiplier.
Check weather and stratagem conditions
Stratagems have their own targets, range, costs and weather conditions. Read the current description before using one. Even fire-related stratagems can have individual restrictions; do not generalize one rule to every ability.
From position to close combat
Your battlefield positioning leads into melee encounters. During melee, inspect the commander and soldiers separately when deciding whether to continue. Some bonuses affect soldiers only and should not be assumed to improve the commander.
This draft does not reveal hidden formulas or a complete stratagem list. Begin by reading visible conditions and avoiding rushed advances.
